BART CAHIR
Bart Cahir was appointed senior vice president, Unconventional in November 2023 with responsibilities for the transition of the recently announced merger with Pioneer and the expanded portfolio at change of control.
Before taking the current position, he was president of Global Business Solutions. From 2022 to Spring 2023, he was senior vice president, Upstream Portfolio Development. From 2020 to 2022, Mr. Cahir was senior vice president, Unconventional and president of XTO Energy. In 2019, he became senior vice president, ExxonMobil Global Projects Company.
From 2017 to 2019, he was executive advisor to the chairman of Exxon Mobil Corporation. Prior to that opportunity, he was senior vice president, Upstream, Imperial Oil Limited and president, Imperial Oil Resources.
Other past leadership positions include production and lead country manager for ExxonMobil Qatar Inc.; technical and operations manager for ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc.; as well as planning and business analyst for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions in ExxonMobil Production headquarters in Houston.
Mr. Cahir joined Exxon in 1994 after completing a bachelor’s degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from Penn State University, and progressed through various assignments focused on upstream oil and gas operations in the United States.
Mr. Cahir, a native of Pennsylvania, is based in Houston. He and his wife, Andrea, have two children.
