Shane Walker
Shane is a professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering at Texas Tech University, and he serves as the Director of the Water and the Environment Research (WATER) Center and Director of the Texas Produced Water Consortium (TxPWC). Shane teaches courses in the fields of water & wastewater engineering, aqueous chemistry, and physical/chemical treatment processes, and his research focuses on advanced drinking water treatment, especially high-recovery inland desalination, potable reuse, and beneficial use of treated produced water. Shane received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University, and he received M.S. in Environmental & Water Resource Engineering and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. Shane was previously a professor at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and Director of the Center for Inland Desalination Systems (CIDS). Shane is the proud husband of his high school sweetheart and the proud father of their four children.
