SHELBY LANDGRAF

Shelby Landgraf joined The University of Texas Permian Basin as Director of Community Engagement for the Shepperd Leadership Institute in July 2021.

Prior to joining the University, Shelby was the evening co-anchor for CBS7 News. She worked in broadcast journalism as a leading news anchor and storyteller for more than a decade. She covered a wide range of historic events over her career in local news, from natural disasters and crime to the energy industry and a presidential visit to the Permian Basin. But her passion was always positive stories that highlighted the good in the West Texas community.

Shelby is proud to call West Texas home. Growing up a “military brat,” she lived all over the world and graduated high school in Germany. Throughout the moves, Texas was always one constant. She spent a part of every summer visiting family in the Permian Basin. She attended Trinity University in San Antonio and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Speech Communication and Business Administration.

Shelby and her husband live in Odessa with their young daughter. Shelby enjoys giving back to her community by serving on the West Texas Food Bank Board of Directors and volunteering at her daughter’s school.
